DAY 5: New Year Challenge - Walk & Strength #2

Day 5 of the 7-day New Year Challenge  is a 40-minute workout that includes a cardio walk with our second strength workout for the week! The walk combined with the warmups and cooldowns will give you 25 minutes of cardio with about 2500 steps!  Up the challenge by increasing the intensity and/or tempo. The 15-minute strength session includes exercises for your arms, legs, and core.

Hydration check-in: Are you drinking water before, during, and after your workouts? Water regulates your body temperature and lubricates your joints. It helps transport nutrients to give you energy and keep you healthy. If you're not hydrated, your body can't perform at its highest level. Exact amounts of water needed will vary from individual to individual (gender, exercise environment, type of exercise, and intensity of exercise are all factors). 

  • Before: 17-20 oz. of water at least 2 hours prior to exercise  

  • During: 7-10 oz. of water for every 10-20 minutes of exercise  

  • After: 16-24 oz. of water for each pound lost due to sweating.

Also, if you need more cooldown or feeling a little tight, try one of our gentle stretching sessions
