Instead of repeating the same movements, we’ve created a workout featuring 12 different exercises with no repeats. Every exercise has a purpose, keeping both your body and your mind engaged from beginning to end.
Whether you choose to exercise standing with me or seated with my mom, Aiko, this workout is designed to help you build strength, improve your heart health, challenge your balance, and make everyday movement feel easier.
Why We Created a No-Repeat Workout
One of the best ways to stay consistent with exercise is to enjoy it. When every exercise is different, there’s always something new to look forward to. Instead of watching the clock, you’ll be focused on learning the next movement and celebrating what your body can do.
This workout combines strength, cardio, coordination, and functional movement into one fun session—all without repeating a single exercise.
What to Expect in These Senior Fitness Workouts
After a gentle warm-up, you’ll complete two blocks of six exercises with a one-minute water break between them. Each exercise lasts 50 seconds, followed by a 20-second recovery period, giving you time to catch your breath and prepare for the next movement.
Why Functional Movement Matters
Many of the exercises in this workout are inspired by the movements we perform every day. You’ll practice getting up from a chair, carrying groceries, reaching overhead, stepping in different directions, rotating safely, and walking with confidence.
These movements help support everyday activities such as:
- Carrying shopping bags
- Climbing stairs
- Gardening
- Traveling
- Playing with grandchildren
- Moving around your home with greater confidence
When we strengthen these everyday movement patterns, we’re not just exercising—we’re investing in our independence and quality of life.
Standing or Seated—You Choose
One of the things that makes Yes2Next unique is that you don’t have to choose between a standing workout and a chair workout. Throughout the session, I’ll demonstrate the standing version while my mom, Aiko, shows the seated option.
Some days you may feel like standing. Other days a chair may feel like the better choice. You can even switch between the two during the workout. The important thing is to keep moving in a way that feels right for your body.
Twenty Minutes Can Make a Difference
You don’t have to spend hours exercising to improve your health. Just 20 minutes of purposeful movement can help build strength, improve endurance, support heart health, and increase confidence over time. Every workout is another opportunity to invest in your future health—one step, one movement, and one day at a time.
